Introduction
Hey, everybody in this video, we’re going to talk about getting what you want and why every day matters.
Hey everyone, Brandon and Lynette Cunningham from thecunninghamcollective.com. And today we’re going to talk about getting what you want. And we’re going to start with just two simple, but very important questions. And the first question is this: have you found the opportunity that’s going to help you get what you want in the future? And the answer for most people is, naturally, “No, not yet. Haven’t found it. Haven’t haven’t found it yet.”
But now an even more important question is, if you haven’t found that opportunity yet, how much time are you spending every day to try and find that opportunity? Every day. Because if you’re not, sooner or later, you’re going to have to tell your loved ones. Can you imagine telling your children, “Kids, sorry, we never found that opportunity and I really wasn’t looking.”
That hurts.
Everyday Matters
Because, because that’s the reality. The reality is most people think they haven’t found the opportunity and most people aren’t spending enough effort every day looking for that opportunity. And so everyday kind of matters in this deal.
It does. It does. And a lot of times, people have things presented to them, but it’s not the perfect scenario. People want everything to be perfect about it. They want the timing in their life to be perfect. They want the timing that is required from whatever is presented to be just so. Very little time here, very little monetary investment, very little risk. They want all of these things. Very little sacrifice, but big gains. They want life-changing differences, maybe much more money or much more time, but not with a lot of sacrifice.
I think they call that having your cake and eating it too.
Timing
Well, yeah. And the reality is this, you guys, a lot of times people do have that desire to have everything perfect about something. I know a lot of people who want to have children, but they go, “You know, the timing’s not right in our life. We’re going to wait for the perfect timing in our life.” And they’ll let years pass and maybe they decide, “Okay, this is the perfect timing.” They conceive. And then life happens and they go, “Oh, this wasn’t the perfect timing. I wasn’t expecting that job transfer. I wasn’t expecting our car to break down.” All of these different scenarios.
It’s no different in this business. People sometimes will go, “Ooh, that sounds great, but the timing’s not right in my life.” So they wait and then they go, “Okay, the timing is great. I’m going to do it now.” And then life happens. Here’s the difference in the two scenarios. The first scenario, when you decide to have a baby and you conceive, you’re committed. There’s no-
No refund?
No refund. There’s no, “I’m just going to put this on the shelf for a while and get back to it when things straighten out.”
You may want to try every once in a while, but you can’t do that.
Commit to The Process
It doesn’t work that way. So you commit to the process, right? You’re like, “This is it. I’m a mom now. This is what I’m going to do.” And you figure it out, right? And you be the best that you can be at it. A lot of times in business, life happens and people go, “You know, I didn’t invest that much to begin with. I’m going to shelf it for a while. I’m going to put my dreams on hold for a while, while I deal with my day-to-day life.” You guys, life happens no matter what. There’s never the perfect time. Life is going to happen. And here’s the thing, opportunity waits for no one. Right? So don’t get caught up in wanting everything to be perfect.
When Brandon and I made the decision to get involved in our business, we had a lot of things going on. We had five corporations, we had two young children. I mean, busy, busy, busy. No extra time, no desire to add anything else to our plate, but our gut said, “You don’t want to miss this.” And it was our gut that we listened to. And that, for us, was a major, major decision that we feel to be the best decision we ever made. So you got to keep that in mind, don’t you think?
Today May Be Your Day!
Yeah. So guys, every day matters and the day you make a decision to change your future, and if you haven’t found that opportunity, you have to make a decision that you’re going to look for it every day until you find it. And then when you find it, it may not look exactly like what you hoped it to be. Kind of like raising kids is not what you probably hoped it to be, but it’s amazing if you make the effort. And so don’t underestimate the power of a day. Every day in your life is so important. And today may be your day that you find the opportunity that will allow you to have everything you want.
